Mary Lou Parisi serves as President of South Carolina for Eye Health America™ (EHA) and Chief Executive Officer at Clemson Eye. She is well-connected with eye care practices across the nation where she builds strong alliances, attracts and retains the best physicians and practices as partners.
At Clemson Eye, Parisi has fostered a patient-focused, quality treatment culture among 160-plus employees, nine ophthalmologists, seven optometrists across nine locations, with two ambulatory surgery centers. Since 2003, she has directed the growth of Clemson Eye into one of South Carolina’s largest regional integrated eye care providers. Under her leadership, Clemson Eye has grown from $2 million to $25 million in revenue, with a focus on private-paying services such as refractive surgery, optical and aesthetics. Mary Lou will apply her leadership and strategic business development skills to help grow EHA into an eye care industry leader.
Parisi is well-known in the ophthalmology community and has served on national advisory boards for the industry; and has published and lectured for ASOA and JCAPHO. In 2002, she founded WPI Inc. and consulted on practice management across the U.S. and Canada. Prior to that, Parisi co-founded and grew an international furniture design and manufacturing business with 75 employees, and sales and distribution in five countries over eight years. Briefly, in her early career, Parisi taught English in the Canadian high school system, but quickly realized she was an entrepreneur at heart. In Hamilton, Canada, her birthplace, she launched an optical dispensary and ophthalmology practice before relocating to South Carolina with her family.
Parisi graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (Honors) in Political Science, and minor in English, followed by a post-graduate Bachelor of Education, all from the prestigious Queen’s University in Kingston, ON, Canada. She is a Certified Ophthalmic Executive who enjoys the creative process in business and thrives on steering an enterprise to its full potential.
