ATLANTA, GA – April 22, 2020 – To expand access to care for our patients and community, including this unprecedented time with COVID-19, Eye Health America (EHA), a leader in eye care practice management, has broadened their services to include safe and secure Telehealth visits. Previous offerings focused on in-person appointment scheduling, but the inclusion of the Telehealth platform opens the door for a new kind of commitment to providing patients with access to our best-in-class eyecare doctors via video/audio interaction from the convenience and safety of their home..

Benefits of the new Telehealth include:

  • Real time HIPAA-compliant video and audio with your trusted eye doctor
  • This “virtual care” mirrors in-office appointments with one of our board-certified physicians you trust
  • Conveniently seen from the privacy and safety of your own home
  • Only a smartphone, iPad/tablet or computer is required

With the outbreak of the Coronavirus, healthcare providers are adapting to the needs of their patients in ways that will allow them to continue caring for and treating medical issues without compromising the health of patients or providers. Telehealth allows patients to work with their trusted eye doctor when they cannot or choose not to leave their homes in order to practice social distancing.

As people have been told to – and more people may choose to – stay home, the need for eye care and other types of services does not decrease. Although EHA launched Telehealth weeks ago as an immediate solution to healthcare access during the pandemic, we believe Telehealth will have far reaching advantages for patients, providers, and the healthcare system that will last into the future.

EHA’s member practices include Carolinas Centers for Sight, Clemson Eye, Dillon Eye Associates, Florence Surgery and Laser Center, Pee Dee Eye Associates, Piedmont Surgery Center, The Eye Associates, The Surgery & Laser Center at Professional Park and Updegraff Laser Vision.
